Yee Haw

So no poker for me last night.  Instead I went with Mrs. Mookie to the Austin Rodeo.  She enjoys country music and was looking forward to seeing Sara Evans in concert.  But at the last minute she cancelled due to bronchitis, and was replaced with Clay Walker.

Now I am not a fan of country music, however I would rather go see her, then see some dude in tight Wranglers gyrating to a country ditty.

And to top it all off, we had two old ladies in front of us, who stood the entire time dancing and shaking things that shouldn’t be shook at their age and shape.  Oh and one of them evidently forgot to shower.

The rodeo part was actually enjoyable.  Besides the “normal” events like bull riding, rednecks have come up with some pretty funny events like Mutton Busting.  This is where we see if little 5 yr. old Bubba Jr. can ride on top of a sheep for at least 6 seconds.  Priceless.

This Saturday in the next Big O Poker Room tournament.  We will break in the new table we just finished building.  Evidently there is a first tourney curse to the table builder – they never win the first tournament on the table.  So now I have a built in excuse for the weekend.

  1. She actually cancelled on monday or tuesday.. which isn’t exactly last minute, but, I feel your pain..

I went Wednesday and saw Lynard Skynard…

They had young girls riding the sheep Wednesday.. and a lil 4 year old girl ended up winning.. forget her name.. Summer sumtin or the other…. was actually what I considered a cool ‘rodeo name’.
