Q: How did you get into poker ?
S: some of the guys at work were having a monthly game and asked me to join in. obv, they were looking for sum dead money to pump up the prize pool. I obliged. I was a calling station when i first started. i got roughed up the first couple of times and hated losing so i started reading up and playing more so i could hold my own.
now I’m a FORCE !! i PWN them beeches. lol
Q: Do you have any poker related goals and if so what are they ?
S: HA! ez. i have many poker goals. but, the most important goal to me right now is to play in the 2006 WSOP Main Event and finish ITM.
Q: Who would be at your 6-handed SNG ?
S: Dave Chappelle, Jack Black, Sandra Bullock, Cameron Diaz and of course Chris Tucker. I’d have an incredible time piling up their chips.
Q: What is your favorite online poker site ?
S: I started on PokerStars but, Full Tilt is my favorite. The token sng’s and WSOP satellites/qualifiers and freerolls are the best.
Q: What is your favorite casino ?
S: Caesar’s Palace is my fav. With the Shadow Bar, Sports Book, Poker Room and Club PURE all in close proximity. what else does a guy need to sustain life? ya!
Q: What is your favorite poker hand ?
S: 4-6 is my favorite hand. I was watching high stakes cash games on Full Tilt last year and saw sum guy take down a HUGE 14k pot with it and decided i should hang on to it if i could get in cheap. I was playing a lot of cash games at the time and won some nice pots with it. I took down a $900 pot with it once at 2/4 NL.
Q: How would you describe your poker style ?
S: In cash games it’s TA. in tournament play i start out TA but, as the blinds climb i loosen up. many players think i’m a maniac but, there is some reasoning behind the madness in each situation.
Q: Who is your favorite poker player ?
S: Phil Ivey is tha muthereffin man!
Q: What’s the last book you have read ?
S: I haven’t read many poker books. the last book i read was Phil Gordon’s Little Green Book. his Final Table DVD is also very good (i won a signed copy). i met and played a small NLHE tournament with Phil at a corporate event. very cool guy.
Q: What level of static do you get over your poker habit ?
S: not too much. my GF has seen some of my successes in live and online play and encourages me. the only thing she insists on is a date night every Sat.
Q: Tell us a little known fact about yourself.
S: A little known fact for the bloggers. I met my girlfriend in Las Vegas over 3 yrs ago. after a year of long distance dating, i moved her out here from Cleveland to sunny Orange County, CA. Ya, packed up all her chit and the dog, Bevery Hillbillies style. Of course, we gotta watch all the Buckeye games. She’s Ohio State alumni. But, we both know the Trojans are the best team ever.

Great writeup, Mook. It’s always particularly fun when you profile a guy with some real personality like our boy Smokkee.
Smokkee, one thing I’d like to know is what you do outside of playing poker and running roughshod all over the token sngs and token MTTs on full tilt.
My top 5 guesses:
1. Exeuctive Producer for Comedy Central.
2. Hip-hop promoter.
3. NBA Cheerleader.
4. Runs the poker room at the Bicycle Casino
5. Actually Phil Ivey, just using a different online poker account since Phil is otherwise required to play exclusively on full tilt.
6. Sit at home smoking weed all day while playing online poker.
you guys are killing me.
when i’m not playing poker i’m:
1. thinking about playing poker
2. wondering why some donk in the FTP 17k with an M of 7 would call off all his chips in the BB with J9s.
3. trying to understand why i can’t win a freakin seat into the WSOP Main Event.
4. explaining to my GF that i need to work harder at getting my seat so i can’t be going to the latest Jennifer Aniston movie (like that’s gonna happen even if it wasn’t WSOP Qualifier season!).
5. dreaming about the last 3 bad beats.
6. watching the Heat school Dallas.
