Q: What is the story behind your ID, BrainMc ?

B: My name is really Brian McWhatever and “Brain” started as just a knickname that I got in high school from my friends. As I got older, I would constantly receive mailings and credit cards with my name misspelled as “Brain” so it just came to me when I needed a screen name.

Q: How did you get into poker ?

B: I have always loved card games. My father’s family in Indiana would play alot of Euckre in the summer while my brother and I would play Rummy. I got into 5 card draw in college and would play in as many neighborhood games as possible after graduation. Texas Hold’em started for me last year because that is the game the host started to play and I signed on to PokerStars because of Wil Wheaton.

Q: Do you have any poker related goals and if so what are they ?

B: My short term goal is always to win enough to continue to support my hobby. Long term goal is to win a 100+ person live tourney in a casino or $1000 at one sitting.

Q: Who would be at your 6-handed SNG ?

B: Halle Berry, Charlize Theron, Heather Locklear, Evangaline Lilly, Joanna Krupa…. and the game is strip poker ladies. I know…perv, right? I guess I should have said Jesus, JFK and Bobby, MLK Jr, and Ghandi because that would mean they were still alive and the world really needs them now.

Q: What was the first poker blog you read ?

B: I had already been reading Wil’s, then he started to play online. After watching poker on TV, I found Daniel N.’s at Full Contact Poker. The first bloggers I read were Waffles, Wes, and Change100.

Q: What are key improvements that you’ve seen in your game over the last six months, and what is one priority you have for improving? (Submitted by CC)

B: I am trying not to play as many marginal hands out of position and show more patience. Last year if the hand had eyes or any pair, I was gonna play it baby. I need to improve my focus, especially in live games, as CC himself can attest.

Q: How would you describe your poker style ?

B: Tight and ABC with a little game / donkey in me sometimes.

Q: Who is your favorite poker player ?

B: Daniel N., Phil Ivey, Greg Raymer

Q: What’s the last book you have read ?

B: I don’t normally read books. I’m a movie / TV kind of guy. I am about done with Bringing Down the House and I have read 3 chapters of Harrington’s Vol 1 over the past year.

Q: What level of static do you get over your poker habit ? (Submitted by Drewspop)

B: None. Stacie is really great about it. In fact she even throws the good luck nookie my way sometimes, like she did before the game Wednesday. Yes, I am a lucky man!

Q: Between Nihilism and Masochism, which do you think better describes why you play poker? (Submitted by Iakaris)

B: I find that am more of an optomistic realist with a fear of monsters under the bed.

Q: Tell us a little known fact about yourself.

B: I am in a Girls Gone Wild Video. It was from back in my Mardi Gras days. I traded a gold coconut for some friends and I to hang out out on a balcony on Bourbon Street. They were pretty hot and since I was partying next to them, I made it to the video.

And now a new question for The Mookie profile…each week the previous week’s winner will ask the new champ a question. From last week’s champ, SoxLover

Q: What, if any, poker skill would you trade your left testicle/breast for ?

B: The reading ability of Ted Forrest or Daniel N.

BrainMc’s question for next week’s winner…

Q: What ritual / habit or superstitious belief do you have when playing or deciding to play ?
