Q: What is the story behind your ID, bayne_s?
bayne: 1st Name, last initial, rarely use my last name in introductions but Bayne was already taken on Pokerstars.
Q: How did you get into poker?
bayne: Watched my Grandfather play with his retired friends on summer vacations, he occaisonally let me play a few hands when he left table.
Q: Do you have any poker related goals and if so what are they?
bayne: I have already freerolled into WSOP Main Event and Aussie Millions which exceeds any goals I would have set.
Q: What are key improvements that you’ve seen in your game over the last six months, and what is one priority you have for improving? (Submitted by CC)
bayne: My bankroll management is improving but it still has a long way to go. I have a bad habit when running bad to move up in limits to try to get back in a hurry. Patience in getting money back and hand selection is top priority in improving.
Q: How would you describe your poker style?
bayne: Tight Aggressive with gusts of maniac
Q: What would be your first piece of advice for someone wanting to learn to play poker? (Submitted by Maudie)
bayne: Only play with money budgeted for entertainment.
Q: What level of static do you get over your poker habit? (Submitted by Drewspop)
bayne: Wife last gave me static in September because she was at house in Petaluma preparing it for sale while I stayed in apartment to watch daughter and play in poker tournament. Did win Aussie Millions package in FTP freeroll that day so all was forgiven. She encourages poker play after that trip.
Q: What was the first poker blog you read?
bayne: Tao of Poker
Q: Who would be at your 6-handed SNG?
bayne: Gus Hansen, Gavin Smith (a little drunk), Doyle Brunson, Howard Lederer, Mike Matusow and myself. I would have to play tighter than Blinders to survive any length of time but watching how Doyle and Howard play against other 3 would be an education.
Q: Between Nihilism and Masochism, which do you think better describes why you play poker? (Submitted by Iakaris)
bayne: Masochism otherwise how could I withstand so many bad beats, I must enjoy them on some level.
Q: What’s the last book you have read?
bayne: Laws of our Fathers by Scott Turow
Q: Tell us a little known fact about yourself.
bayne: I graduated from college because a teaching assistant friend of mine added points to my test scores in “Survival Swimming”

bayne: Yes, I enjoy poker. Have always enjoyed playing games. Until college it was Chess, until I broke my arm it was Rugby, then Golf, and now Poker. I have a competitive streak that must be satisfied.
