I wasn’t able to make the June blogger gathering in Las Vegas nor find a way out there for this year’s WSOP. We’ve made numerous trips to Vegas before but it’s been awhile since our last trip. November ‘06 to be exact and that was technically for a work conference. So you can imagine my excitement today after we booked a trip for August.

That’s right boys and girls your favorite weak-tight donkey will be heading to sin city to gamble away the MiniMooks college fund one check-fold at a time. I’m super excited and will now turn my attention to scratchin’ up some form of a bankroll. So don’t laugh when you see me on the corner washing windshields or holding up a sign beggin’…”Will min-raise AA for money”.

Thanks to Mrs. Mookie’s slot degeneracy we are staying at MGM for the first time. We are slowly moving our way up to the Bellagio/Venetian/Wynn. Our first couple of trips were spent at the “lovely” Fitzgerald and super-stinky Plaza. The last couple of trips we’ve stayed at the Luxor and while OK we really wanted to try out the MGM based upon the cash game action there and nice things others have said about it.

I’m a low-roller when it comes to poker and rarely play any of the other games since I have absolutely no clue as to how to play them. Due to my addictive nature I’m afraid to learn how to play craps or some of the other games. Because of all this I’ll probably stick to playing cash games at MGM and maybe play a couple lower buy-in tourneys. Last time I only played the noon Caesar’s tournament and the rest of the time was spent at the cash tables. After this trip I’ll post another Low Rollin’ in Vegas report.

We’re trying to put together another Big O group for the trip like most of our past trips. I like to roll with an entourage, it makes it that much more fun. Right now we’re a group of 4 with Rocco and Stacey making the trip but it looks like the group may grow. I’m looking forward to seeing Don and Carmen again and while I doubt any other bloggers will be out there during this time…lemme know if you are as I would love to meet up.
