This Is Not A Tourney Recap

Wow.  Can Waffles draw a crowd or what?  I really thought getting 80 people for a non-BBT Mookie would be really tough.  So when 94…yes 94 people signed up I was amazed.  Due to a last minute family obligation, I was nearly an hour late to the tourney.  I managed to get the count and other updates from others on Twitter.

Once I made it home, fired up BuddyDank Radio and got settled we hit the first break.  Outside of taking down a few hands with preflop raises, I don’t think I won any meaningful pots during my brief stay.  Shortly after the break I ran AJ into AQ ending my night in 57th place.

Waffles managed to get some chips early and made a deep run.  For awhile there it looked like he had a shot at pulling off the miracle even sucking out a couple times for all his chips.  When they made it down to the final two tables, he was on the wrong side of suckout and lost most of his chips.  He managed to keep afloat for awhile but eventually hit the rail in 12th place.  Congrats to Waffles for drawing such a big crowd and making the entire challenge entertaining and exciting (oh and the $109 addition to the prize pool was very generous as well).

Eventually the field was reduced and only 9 remained.  The unfortunate DrewFours finished on the bubble and the final table was formed with everyone making the money.

Here is how the final table played out…

9th Place - OMGitsPokerFool $23.50

Congrats to April on the big win and her first Mookie title.  At least someone can represent Austin well and unlike the Texans actually win a game.  Thanks to everyone who made it out last night or just signed up/donated to the Waffles cause.  See you next week.
