The Mookie/Dookie Recap
After a little bit of a rough week it was nice to sit down and play The Mookie last night. We had another decent showing with 52 players signing up for the tourney. Obie315 was the defending champ and back looking for title #2 in as many tries.
Since BDR wasn’t online last night, I pulled up the couple of blogger cash games (1/2NL deep) that were running and watched that while I played The Mookie.
My starting table was tough but I managed to pick up a few smallish pots here and there to stay at the average for much of the first hour and a half. Eventually the field was reduced to the final three tables and I was sitting just below the average of nearly 6,000 when I went busto.
With blinds at 120/240 25 ante, I made it 600 to go in MP with AKo. The action folded around to PirateLawyer in the SB and he popped it to 1,400 sitting on a stack of nearly 20K. The BB folded and the action was back to me and I thought about calling since I had position but hated the idea of calling and then folding to his CB if I whiffed the flop. So instead I decided to put the pressure back on him by jamming and hoped that he had a worse ace or low to mid pocket pair.
He called with JJ and we were off to the races. The flop was great for me when an Ace made an appearance, however the turn was dirty when a Jack peeled leaving me drawing dead. Out in 27th.

In what will turn out being the last $11 Turbo Pot LImit Omaha Dookie tourney (more on this tomorrow), 16 people showed up for some 4 card Bingo. I managed to sneak into to the final table but got my junk mashed in twice to keep me from the money. Who knew 5c Qs 8h 2h and 7d 8h 4d 5h were primo hands. I guess I need to get me some more Omaha learnin’.
