My how time flies when you donk it up nearly every Wednesday with folks you enjoy and respect. It’s been about a year since I setup the first Mookie (back then it was Big O) tournament on Stars and a whopping 7 players showed up for the event. Initially the tournament was setup as an online version of the Big O home tournaments and was open to any of the Big O regulars.

Two weeks after this tournament, Waffles was the first blogger to join our group and of course the event would never be the same. Thanks to Waffles we saw more bloggers in March play the tourney including TripJax, Garth, Kat and Jules to name a few or four.

In April we added the “Champion Profile” with Drewspop being the first victim of my lame questions.

Over the next month or two the tourney size grew and was dominated by bloggers. In May we changed the name from the Big O to the The Mookie which has stuck ever since.

The move to Full Tilt happened in September when they stepped up to the plate and helped us pull off the Tanner charity tournament.

Now it’s almost February and things are still going strong. We’ll be here as long as they’ll let us keep playing. Thanks to everyone who’s made it out to play over the year and I hope to keep seeing everyone each week.

After tonight The Mookie will be taking a 2 week break to make way for Hammer Day and Valentine’s Day. The defending champ is newcomer NumbBono who has been making The Mookie his personal ATM over the last few tournaments. The tournament starts at 9:00PM CT and the password is vegas1.

For the 2nd Chance tournament we’ll be running a $5 PL08 (Turbo) event at 10:30PM CT and the password is also vegas1.

“And in honour of The Mookie’s Anniversary, I’m putting a bounty on my head. It’ll be a surprise (I love sending and receiving surprises), but trust me, it will be a good surprise!”

4:00 … The Poker Tutor is back with more lessons teaching you K7o is gold and “min-raise cause it’s feels right”.

8:40 … 20 minutes until game time and we have 40 people signed up so far.

9:00 … Here we go ! 50 players tonight and you’re stuck with me behind the wheel.

9:02 … That was quick (that’s what she said) bayne_s got all in with AK on a flop of K27…unfortunately for him Astin had 77 for a set and bayne is out within the first couple minutes.

9:05 … Awww how cute, twinkies…one of the wonka boys and Fuel both had JJ.

9:06 … Yikes, all in on a AAx flop…Numb had AJ but NewinNov was ahead with AQ…until a Jack popped up on the river.

9:13 … Mattazuma and Drizz get all in PF…Matta has AA, Drizz TT…no lucky ten for Drizz and he’s out in 48th.

9:19 … Pauly doubles through IMA_Huge_Donkey when his AQ outflops AK. IMA is left with crumbs and is out the next hand.

9:20 … Ouch ! Numb is all in against willwonka with AQ on a Queen high flop. willwonka has KK though and is looking good to double through…until another Queen shows up on the turn. Down to 5 tables.

9:22 … The ol’ counterfeit…all in preflop…hoyazo has 33 and jeciimd AJ…board comes 55QKK. Down to 44.

9:24 … The champ is rolling, he just sent patryn21 to the rail. lightning36 is out in 43rd.

9:29 … Waffles is all in with AQ vs. BuddyDank’s 55. Presto is gold and Waffles is out followed by jjok. Patchmaster pushed with JJ and ran into Don Morris’s QQ. They are falling fast.

9:33 … I missed the hand, but TripJax is ousted in 39th.

9:34 … wwonka69 and kaellinn18 have been eliminated and we are down to 4 tables. I just donated a big chunk o’ chips to my good friend surflexus. Riding the shortie now.

9:40 … Everyone folded to me on the button and I pushed in my crumbs with A6s and columbo called with 88 ending my night.

9:41 … All in PF…Rocco has AA and Bone_Daddy QQ. No mo biatches and Bone is out inn 35th.

9:44 … The bounty has been claimed. Kat moved in her shortstack with AJ and was called by Schaubs with AK. No miracles and she finishes in 34th.

9:46 … pokerenthusiast runs into AA and is out, while dnasty runs into the Astin machine. Astin then takes his 77 up against Mondogarage’s AK and wins, he’s up to 7900.

9:48 … I missed the action but VinNay leaves in 30th. Don’t forget to sign up for the 2nd Chance tourney that starts at 10:30PM CT. Password is vegas1 and tonight it is PLO8 Turbo.

9:50 … Mean_G is unlucky when a river Ace falls and only 28 remain from our starting 50 and they haven’t even made the break.

9:52 … DontKnow doubles through Rocco with a fullhouse, while Astin stays on fire after flopping a set of Kings against Fuel. Three tables left.

9:55 … Pauly flops two pair and doubles through Schaubs, 27 left and they are coming up on the first break. MiamiDon’s two pair fall to Mattazuma’s bigger two pair.

9:57 … Quads for Rocco and he doubles through Julius_Goat leaving him on fumes.

9:59 … Ouch. NightRanger gets his AA cracked by Don Morris when a King falls on the river to give Don two pair. Julius finishes the night in 25th.
