Another day of blog troubles…very frustrating. Once again I have no idea who or what caused the problems. My hosting company is looking into things but I’m not confident we’ll find a root cause.

I hope everyone is having a great 4th of July. It’s been raining all day and night so no fireworks show tonight for the Mook family. Because of this I’ll be around for The Mookie tonight. RecessRampage ran over the field last week and is the defending champ tonight. The crowd will no doubt be small so for those of us who have never taken down a title…tonight is our chance!

Tonight will be the first Mookie tournament with double stacks…3,000 starting chips. This may become a permanent change if it works out well.

BuddyDank mentioned he probably won’t be around for the broadcast tonight, but the tunes will still be spinning and you can request songs on the BuddyDank Radio website.

After my bubble finish in the MATH on Monday night I went over to Rocco’s place for a last minute home tourney last night. I played well early and chipped up and made it down to the final 5 and then ran AK into QQ and came out on the wrong end of the race and was crippled. A couple hands later I jammed my scraps right into AA and finished smack dab on the bubble again! Doh! I stuck around for the tiny 2nd tourney and broke my bubble streak by being the first one eliminated. Stellar Mookie play.

Despite my near misses lately I still feel like I’m playing much better lately so hopefully I’ll be able to put something together soon. Maybe tonight…things kick off at the usual time – 9:00PM CT. The password is vegas1.

For The Dookie, RecessRampage has selected Razz (Turbo) and this event will begin at 10:30PM CT. Same password…vegas1.

9:57PM CT … We had 26 players on this holiday night sign up to play. The first few to hit the rail were ringo6624, Schaubs and BrainMc in that order. A few minutes ago surflexus went out in 23rd place. Luckily this is a double-stack tourney cause I’ve already donated nearly half my 3,000 starting stack.

10:09 … Mattazuma flopped a set of 9′s but PouringReign went runner, runner for Broadway. Mattazuma was crippled but has tripled up to a shade over 1,000. Meanwhile at our donkey pen, I got all in against lightning36 with AJ vs. his A7. No love for The Tourist and lightning hits the rail.

10:11 … Unimpressed rivers the nut flush but crazdgamer had turned a fullhouse with JT and Unimpressed leaves us in 21st. Closing in on the final two tables.

10:20 … 0-2 for The Tourist. FishyMcDonk took it up against a104l9′s JJ and came up short. 19 remain.

10:23 … Mattazuma hung on pretty long with a very short stack but eventually fell out in 19th place. We are now down to the final two tables. Only 3 spots pay tonight.

10:26 … IslandBum has AA and it holds up against Mike_Maloney’s QQ. Mike is left with just 100 chips after that hand. GCox lost a race with 99 vs. crazdgamer’s KQ and he finishes in 18th place. Mike follows him out in 17th.

10:50 … DDionysus loses an all-in pot against defending champ RecessRampage and ends the night in 13th place.

10:58 … The Champ is down! RecessRampage moved in with 88 and got called by TheBlurrr with TT. Tens are good and RR takes 12th. pvanharibo also loses with 88 vs. a104l9′s KK. 10 left, final table bubble.

11:00 … irongirl01 takes 10th after she loses to chipleader’s crazdgamer’s turned straight. weak_player quickly follows her out in 9th. 8 left, 3 get the cash.

11:02 … PouringReign takes A8 up against TheBlurrr’s AK. Big Slick is goot and 7 little donkeys are left.

11:03 … The Tourist makes another debut, this time in smokkee’s hands and it again falls….IslandBum had AJ. 3 more till the money.

11:05 … I’m all in with ATo and IslandBum calls with AQ…oops…doh…Mookie gets lucky, lucky, lucky with a Ten on the turn. Staying alive. I’m still the shorty.

11:26 .. I just doubled up IslandBum when my A9 fell to his AK. Back to the cellar for me.

11:54 … I just got LLL with JT…I raised on the button and a104l9 called out of the BB…flop wass AK8 and he checked and I bet the pot and he called. A beautiful Queen came on the turn and we got all in with him holding A6. Double up for me.

11:55 … The next hand crazdgamer gets all in with QJo vs. stl_phily’s 66. The pair holds up and the bubble has popped. Whew! no mo’ bubble fo’ me.

12:01 … The blinds are up to 800/1600…stl_phily 31K, mook 26K, a10 20K.

12:03 … I’m crippled afterI get all in with 33 on a 6d 3d 4d board. a104l9 calls with 7d 7s. 5d on the turn and he takes a big chiplead.

12:08 … I’ve made a mini-comeback from my 3K…up to 12K but the blinds are big and I need a couple of double ups.

12:12 … I just got all in with QTd against stl_phily with J4 on a Q54 board. He finishes in 3rd and I’m heads up against a104l9. I have 48K vs. his 29K. Here we goooooo….

12:22 … Uggghh!!! 2nd place twice tonight. Sucks. This was the hand of the heads up match. The money went in on the flop…

Congrats to a104l9 on the win! Losing on the bubble doesn’t hurt as bad as taking crappy 2nd place let me tell you.
