The Mookie recap
Thanks to everyone who made it out last night for The Mookie. We were just one player short of paying the entire final table, 45 players in all. I guess we can blame Iak, Don and Vegas. Lucky, lucky, lucky bastards. Once again we had a lot of the usual faces along with some new blood like Chipper (pokerdwarf), Nijle and Pokerfool (LuparFiend) to name a few. I did a poor job of covering a few of the big hands including the first one that I think had GCox running QQ into someone’s AA. And then not too long after that I missed a huge 3-way all in on a flop of J-8-3 with Surf having JJ, 23skidoo 88 and I think Pokerfool’s 33. Wow.
I of course didn’t get anything going and was crushed by my own hand – T8 – wielded by none other than Waffles. There were many suckouts including a couple 2 and 3 outers, donkey calls, fishy plays and every now and then some really good poker. Ok I was probably lying about the last part, but it was a lot of fun. In the end Marxst1 was able to fend off aquaverse, who has been on fire lately, and win his first title. It’s gonna be tough coming up with the name for next week’s tournament without be added to some Homeland Security list so if you have any ideas please feel free to leave a comment. I’ll have Marxst1′s profile up in a little bit.

In about an hour the Main Event final table will begin. I was invited over to a friend’s house tonight to watch the PPV, but since they won’t be showing hole cards I think I’m gonna pass. Instead I will be following the great coverage of CC, Pauly, Otis and team.

Gee mook… how about “The Crybabies Ball”? or perhaps “Pot v. Kettle Tourny”… Hell, call it the “Foley Is The Biggest Damn Donk In The World” tourny…. really, I’d like to see it be the “Don’t Call All-Ins With Ace High” tourny.
I’m disappointed that nobody ever bothered to comment on how I spent the first 45 minutes of your tourney raising every single hand that didn’t see a raise prior to my action. It didn’t matter if I was utg or in a blind, I raised every damn one of em. Worked for awhile too!
Mostly though, it helped wear off the tilt anger I had built up from a FT tourney earlier.
Can’t we all get along and just admit deep down we are all just a buncha donkeys.
BB, being the crappy live-blogger that I am, I wasn’t able to witness and report on your stellar, mad poker skills last night. Probably too many Dos XX for me. Next time.
I miss the mookie!!!! If I EVER get a Wednesday night off ever again in my life, I’m definitely going to join you guys.

[...] I’m still trying to get the feel of Tournaments and get some more experience at them. I had fun playing in the mookie the other night and feel I did pretty well for my 1st “real†tournament. Everyone was very cool giving the other bloggers props for playing good hands but getting beat. Great atmosphere and I had a lot of fun. I did end up loosing to waffles when he raised it up big after a limped flop with what come to find out was the hammer (7/2o). And I held J/K on a 10/Q board. Ah well that’s poker. Can’t wait to play in another one! [...]
