I’ve completely neglected this blog over the last week mainly because I haven’t been in front of a computer.  No work for me this entire week but I’ve been staying busy doing other things.  I managed to get in a rare round of golf on Saturday with my dad at Falconhead Golf Club in Austin.  This was only my 2nd time to play this course and I managed to find many of the sand traps sprinkled throughout.  It was a beautiful 78 degrees when we teed off so I made sure to brag about the perfect golfing weather on Twitter.  Lots of folks up north battling negative temperatures and massive snowfall made sure to let me know how happy they were to hear from me.

Unfortunately the weather isn’t always this nice and 50 degree swings are not uncommon for this time of year.  On Tuesday evening we decided to bundle everyone up and trek out into the chilly 35 degree night and take the family to the Trail of Lighst Festival in downtown Austin.  We started at the 155 ft. Zilker Tree and then walked through the entire park checking out the many light displays.  The kiddos had a great time and we even managed to take a train ride through the park on the Zilker Zephyr.

The rest of my time off has been spent doing some last minute Christmas shopping along with mourning my 2nd place finish in Fantasy Football.  I guess I should be happy about my finish given my 7-7 record heading into the playoffs.  If I wouldn’t have sat Chris Johnson for DeShaun Foster or played the Tennessee defense instead of Philly I would have gotten the championship win.  Instead my opponent came from behind to snag the win on the back of DeAngelo Williams.  Bah!

Tonight is Christmas Eve and also The Mookie on Full Tilt.  We have a pretty busy night with a trip to Mrs. Mookie’s dad’s place on tap.  When we get home from that it’ll be time for cookies, hot chocolate and maybe a movie for the kiddos.  Then it’ll be time to get tucked into bed so that Santa can come and drop off some presents and eat up all our cookies.  It’s very doubtful that I’ll be able to make an appearance tonight in The Mookie.  The turnout should be really low thus giving me (and Hoy) a great chance at taking down our first win.  But it looks like New Years eve will be my only shot for a win this year.  Even if I’m not able to make it tonight, I’ll try to stop in and see how everyone is doing.  BuddyDank Radio is on break until the new year so there won’t be a live broadcast tonight.
