Last night was the BBT Freeroll Take Two on Full Tilt with a whopping $2,500 prize pool. I was able to make it online a few minutes before things kicked off since my daughter’s birthday dinner didn’t go as long as expected.

I didn’t get many big hands but when I did I got paid. Early on I doubled up when I flopped a set of 8’s against InstantTragedy on an AK8 board with him holding AK. Later on I flopped another set with KK against Waffles and took a nice sized pot. With a decent stack I was able to hang around through the drought of bad cards and made it deep.

A generous 12 spots were being paid with 10-12th place receiving $75 while first place was a cool $650. We were down to 15 players and I was sitting in dead last place. Luckily the only time I got AA the whole night was in the blinds and with two preflop all-ins shoves ahead of me. I of course called and faded 88 and AJ to triple up and allow me to skate easily into the money.

The final table bubble took what seemed like forever but somehow someway I limped into the final table 8/9 in chips. After Blinders finished in 9th I was the shorty and raised half my stack with AT and got a lone caller in sellthekids. I shoved the rest of my scraps in on a 9d 7d 9c board and sellthekids quickly called with ATd. The diamond on the turn ended my run and I won a hundo for my troubles. Not too shabby.

Congrats to NumbBono on taking down the tourney after a long heads up duel against Jordan. Another huge thanks to AlCantHang for really bringing everything together and making the BBT a success. Full Tilt really stepped up and supported us bloggers with the sizable prize pool and dbirider from PokerOnAMac.com came through with some cool prizes…Wii and DS Lite.

Tonight is Kat’s $1 rebuy Donkament on Full Tilt. I won’t be able to make this since we’ll be hosting a live tournament at the Big O. Mattazuma is in town from Chicago and will be making his first appearance at this historic poker room. Historic? Ok maybe not but the past Mookie champ will be looking to add a Big O title to his poker resume.

I’ve setup a TV in the poker room and hookep up the Wii so that we can gamble on Wii bowling, golf, etc. as people get KO’d from the tournament. Should be loads of fun. I’ll have a tournament report full of pictures and maybe some video up here on Monday.
