Mookie
Outside of The Mookie on Wednesday nights I don’t play too much online poker these days. I still host a home tourney series and frequent another home game. I’m trying to think back to the last time I actually won a poker tournament. We all know my track record in The Mookie…5-7 second place finishes and counting. 2008 was the first year I didn’t win a single tourney in my home game. I haven’t gone back through the ol’ blog to see if I actually won anything last year but needless to say I didn’t close the deal often if at all.
So far this year has been much of the same as I recently took ANOTHER second place in The Mookie. I came up short in The Dookie this past Wednesday for another 2nd. We hosted our home game’s TOC on the 7th and guess who took 2nd place just missed out on a bracelet? Arrgghhh!
Zeem was kind enough to send me a link on Facebook to an article Lee Jones wrote for Cardplayer, Are You Sage? Getting an Edge in Heads-Up No-Limit Hold’em. It’s on my list of things to read and I’ll see if this can help shake me out of this 2nd place slump.
I have one poker goal for 2009. Win something.
