Another week has passed with not much poker for me outside of my mid-day cash sessions on Full Tilt. I managed to drag Mrs. Mookie to Rocco’s Tournament of Champions event as his house over the weekend. Once again work got in my way and I missed the first couple of levels but made it back in time to chip up a little and join MM at the final table. I managed to barely make the money but didn’t win much. The missus on the other hand went on quite a ride at the final table.

She was probably the shortest stack at the final table but managed to double up multiple times. Down to six players and with blinds at 6k/12K she was in the big blind with T6o. With two limpers along they all saw a flop of T5T. She checked the first limper jammed and after the others folded she called. Trip Tens were no good since the limper turned over 55 for the flopped boat. That all changed when a 6 peeled off on the turn. Only having to fade a single out, it looked like Mrs. Mookie was going to win a pot well over 200,000 chips. Unfortunately the case 5 appeared on the river and she was left with just 6K. But the run didn’t end there for her, she ended up tripling and then doubling up a few times to get back in the game eventually bowing out in 3rd place.  Quite a comeback.

I wasn’t a total cooler this weekend with my picks. Thanks to the Giants I went 1-1 to bring my playoff total to 3-7. Not so impressive. Since when did Iggy become a Pats/Celtics fan?

I haven’t been able to make any of the other blogger tournaments lately and I apologize. Between work and getting the house ready for kiddo #6, there hasn’t been much free time for me. Tonight I’ll be back in the fold at The Mookie on Full Tilt at 9PM CT. NumbBono won title #2 last week and may or may not be around to defend his crown. This is quite newsworthy since he was last year’s Mookie IronMan. I think there was about 50 Mookie tournaments and he played in the most (even more than I made) with 48 appearances.

There will be a couple of bounties up for grabs tonight. Knock me out and win yourself a banner for your blog. As always I’m a little behind on getting those created. The next bounty comes from the bloggament machine himself…surflexus. Knock him out and win $27.72. If you knock him out with the Hammer, the bounty is doubled.

Last week both Hoy and I made the final table and got close to winning our prop bet..who can win the Mookie first. This week we probably won’t make it to the first break so don’t forget to join us at The Dookie later on at 10:30PM CT. The game of choice is HOE…alternating rounds of LHE, LO8, Stud O8. Full Tilt doesn’t offer this in Turbo format so it may take awhile for me to donk off my chips…unlike last week when I hit the rail in the PLO event within the first 5 minutes.
