Bone Daddy Wins A Seat
A solid turnout of 105 players showed up for latest BBT4 event at The Mookie last night. Some had predicted a crowd of over 130 but with the crowds down a little at other BBT events compared to BBT3, I took the under for The Mookie. My head was a little frazzled at the start of the tourney since I had just finished watching LOST. Unlike many others, I’m looking forward to the day the show goes off the air. These days it’s more of a chore than anticipation when it comes to watching each week. I’ve invested so much time into this show I feel obligated to watch until the end. My small brain has trouble keeping up so each Thursday I visit the sites of Julius Goat and Mike Maloney for translations and recaps. So I blame LOST for my unfortunate display of donktacular poker play last night.
My starting table looked like this:
- 1Queens Up1
- smokkee
- pvanharibo
- Proehl
- Me
- willwonka
- xkm1245
- Schaubs
My only premium hands of the night were the pocket 3′s I was dealt 5 times. I didn’t flop a single set however I did flop quads once against LJ. Unfortunately the baby board didn’t help me win many chips. As I mentioned earlier, I played about as bad as I could and donked off most of my chips. Sitting with a stack of just 1,300ish on the last hand of the first hour, I shoved it in from the BB after Proehl made a standard button raise. Unfortunately my 33 was no match for his 99 and I was shown the rail in 74th place.
I should have called it a night and got some much needed beauty sleep but since I bailed early last week I decided to stay up through the end. The tourney went by much quicker than I anticipated. We lost 34 players during the first hour and noollab led the way with 11,040 chips.
The pace didn’t slow during the second hour as the body count grew with another 44 finding the rail. With just 27 players remaining NekoNita was atop the leaderboard with 25,980 chips.
During the third hour of play I witnessed many horrific beats and crazy hands including this one…
Since we passed the 100 player mark, the top 18 made the money. Here were the 10th-18th place finishers:
10th: Tony Eusebio, $15.75
11th: Actyper, $15.75
12th: cracknaces, $15.75
13th: TuscaloosaJohn, $13.12
14th: STING70, $13.12
15th: noollab, $13.12
16th : bcbombers, $10.50
17th: llkkaK, $10.50
18th : iaatg6296, $10.50
When Tony Eusebio was eliminated in 10th, the final table was set.
9th: DDionysus, $23.63
Here were the chipcounts at the third break:
8th: NekoNita, $31.50
7th: Maniac57, $39.38
6th: ricky424, $57.75
5th: SmBoatDrinks, $78.75
4th: Phil A, $105
3rd: CoolDog1029, $133.88
2nd: InstantTragedy, $178.50
1st: Bone_Daddy84, $283.50
Congratulations to both BoneDaddy and InstantTragedy for an entertaining heads up match. IT dominated much of the final table play but no matter if he was ahead of behind he could never deliver the death blow to BD during the course of play. BD managed to stay alive and get heads up with a 2-1 chiplead on IT but midway through heads up play surrendered the lead. As you can see on the screenshot above, BD put a nasty beat on IT to snag the lead back and eventually win his first Mookie title along with a TOC seat.
Thanks to everyone who made it out for the tourney last night, see you next week.

Congratulations to BD and IT.
This first Mookie was a lot of fun for me and I really enjoyed it.
Hope to try it again soon.
Thanks for the event.
Congrats to Bone Daddy. He deserved the TOC seat. I’ll have my chance again soon.
