The Big O was open for business on Friday night and 15 players showed up for the bounty/rebuy tournament. Almost all of the crowd was regulars except for another Austin blogger, Justin. The play during the rebuy period was relatively tame, I think there were only 3 or 4 rebuys. My poker funk continued as I couldn’t get much of anything going. After I took the add-on at the break I barely had an average stack. The action heated up after the break…

15th Place … Jim raised preflop and David re-raised and got called by both Bubba and Jim. The flop was Queen high and Bubba led out and David called after Jim folded. The turn brought another Queen and the money went all in. David had AA, but Bubba had AQ…since Jim folded an Ace, David was drawing dead.

14th Place … The tough beats continued when Justin raised preflop and Todd called. After a Ten high flop, Justin pushed all in with QQ and was called by Todd with AT. Another Ten came on the turn and Justin was sent home early.

13th Place … Mellissa moved all in preflop with JJ and was called by Greg with KK. No lucky Jacks and another player was out.

12th Place … On a shorter stack, Rocky went all in with K8h and Jim called with A9o. Ace high was good and the self proclaimed “best player at the Big O” was out.

11th Place … On the final table bubble, Scott pushed in his crumbs with JTs and was called by Greg with A2o. Again Ace high was good.

10th Place … We played for nearly an hour before we lost the first person at the final table. Henry moved all in with 99 and was called by both Lee Anne with QJ and Greg with JT. With a Queen on the flop and and a Ten on the river, Henry was eliminated.

9th Place … Shortstacked I pushed in with AJs and was called by Rico with KK. No lucky Ace for me and I went from playing to dealing. It’s never fun to get knocked out by Uncle Rico…

8th Place … Running late and needing to go, Greg pushed all in with K9o and was called by Bubba with TT. The Tens held up and Greg was out.

7th Place … Uncle Rico and Jim got all in preflop…Jim had AK and Rico KQ. Big Slick was good and Rico was left with remembering how “back in ’82, I used to be able to throw a pigskin a quarter mile.”

6th Place … Once again pockets 9′s were no good…Todd had them but Bubba had AK and hit. It was bubble time.

5th Place … The final five played for over an hour without any eliminations. They finally decided to pay 5th place some cash and things picked up. Mrs. Mookie went all in with 55, but the bounty hunter Jim had TT.

4th Place … Carol went all in with KK and things looked good for her against Jim’s AJo. Unfortunately an Ace flopped and Jim got lucky, lucky, lucky and collected yet another bounty.

3rd Place … After a raise preflop, Jim and Bubba saw a flop of J-4-7. Jim bet and Bubba called. The turn brought another Jack…J-4-7-J. Jim bet again and Bubba just called. The river was a Ten…J-4-7-J-T and the both went all in. Bubba’s slowplayed 77 wasn’t good against Jim’s JT.

2nd Place/1st Place … Heads up Jim had a commanding lead over Lee Anne that he extended with a straight early on. A couple hands later they got all in on a 7 high flop…Lee Anne had Q7, but Jim had AA and they held up. Congrats to Jim on the win…with the win he overtakes both the money and points lead with only 5 or 6 tournaments left in this season.
