Big O Recap: Girl On Girl Action
With a title like this you would think I had some really *nice* pictures to post but I didn’t snap a single one during the last poker night of the season at the Big O. There were a lot of last minute cancellations so we ended up with just 8 players but this meant we were able to play two tournaments.
Since I didn’t take pictures or keep any notes this tourney(s) report will be short. The first event was a rebuy and I did my part to build the prize pool but could never get my stack going. After the break I was shortstacked even after taking the add-on. Luckily Michael went off first but it wasn’t long after and I pushed my shortstack in with 88 only to run into Mrs. Mookie’s QQ. Damn. Since she knocked me out she is now a member of the Big O Hall of Donks. Here is a picture of MM and her ex-husband.
Jim ended up bubbling in the tournament which with the 2nd Chance tournament on the horizon kept me in the chase for #1 on the money list. The final three were all lovely ladies…Mrs. Mookie, Stacey and Carol. MM went out in 3rd while Stacey and Carol ended up chopping 1st and 2nd so we could start the 2nd Chance tournament.
This tournament was a freeze out and I was able to chip up early by hitting a few hands including quads with the good ol’ T8. MOOOOOOOOOOOK !! Jim was knocked out again on the bubble and Mrs. Mookie finished in the money again by taking 3rd. This vaulted me to first place on the money list while Jim still held onto the Points list lead.
Heads up Henry held a substantial chiplead and was kind enough to chop up the money while we played it out for bragging rights. This went on for nearly an hour and just when I thought I had clawed my way into the chiplead he slammed the door with a couple of straights and ended Season 3 winning the last tournament.
Next up for the Big O will be the Tournament of Champions II Freeroll sometime in early January. Finding donated prizes from poker related companies like CardPlayer, Full Tilt, etc. is proving to be very difficult. Last year it was a breeze as everyone was handing out swag and items like candy. With the recent legislation and layoffs I’ve been told no by CardPlayer and have heard crickets after sending emails to others. Guess I’ll just have to make some homemade t-shirts or something..hehe. I hope I don’t get sued by using phrases like “That’s How I Roll”, “Hear That Ladies?”, etc.
