Big O Blur
One big blur is how my evening ended at the Big O tournament on Friday night. We had a good turnout of 19 players, with a lot of new blood. This was a rebuy tourney and our table had lots of action early on, including dark raises, bets, calls, etc.
I didn’t have to rebuy and went to the first break with a decent stack. After I took the full add-on, I was in the top 5 in chips. At one point I was able to run my stack up to nearly 80,000 in chips (we start with 15k stacks). However, after the 2nd break, i couldn’t win a pot to save my life. Every time I would make a play at a pot, I would get played back at and would have to fold.
Unfortunately we weren’t able to export the players from Tournament Director and the Dos XX was flowing pretty freely. Because of this, I don’t have an exact listing of who went out when. I do know that when we made it to the final table, the chipcounts looked like this:
- Rocky – 99,000
- Henry – 80,000
- Brent – 74,000
- David W. – 58,000
- Jim – 52,000
- Me – 49,000
- Justin – 48,000
- Stacey – 35,000
- Scott – 32,000
- Mrs. Mookie – 31,000
The lovely Mrs. Mookie was the first to leave the final table. Shortly after this, I lost half my stack in a race against Jersey Girl. It would take a Batman & Robin type of effort to knock me out unfortunately Jim and Scott were up to the task. They both had AK and knocked me out in 9th.
I ended up going downstairs to the loser’s lounge and passed out on the couch so I didn’t get to see the rest of the final table. I do know that David went out in 8th, followed by Jersey Girl (Stacey) in 7th, and Rocky on the bubble in 6th. Everyone else left finished in the money, Scott 5th, Jim (RoccoBoxer) 4th, and Justin 3rd. Henry went heads up with the new guy, Brent, and in the end his nut flush was good against Brent’s straight.
