I almost didn’t make it to the WWdN tourney tonight. The oldest mini-mook had a choir concert, but I was able to call Mrs. Mookie and have her sign me up right before the start.

Couldn’t even make the first break and I can’t blame anyone or anything but me. I was about 15 minutes late and found myself sitting next to Waffles (who took one to the junk and busted early) but still had plenty of chips and caught AK 3 or 4 times and won a couple pots with preflop re-raises. Awhile later I got AK again and played it badly against Jestocost and lost some chips.

I ended up busting out 52nd (out of 68, yea I suck) when I limped in late position with AJo after Derek limped in EP. On a flop of A Q 9 rainbow, we ended up getting all in. (He bet the pot on the flop and I thought he had a weaker ace so I re-raised, pot-committing myself, he then put me all in). No weaker ace for Derek as he had AQ and I was done.

Right now they are down to 2 tables and jjok, Amy, Matt and Sox among others are still alive.

After reading about the rake-free site World Poker Exchange from people like Trip and Fishy, I decided to drop a few pennies in there and try it out. I haven’t played much other than one table of $10NL and it was nice as I was able to run my $10 up to $34 in less than an hour. There wasn’t a lot of traffic on the site as they only had about 1,000 players on, but I will play some more to see how soft the games really are. I looked at alot of their guaranteed tourneys that were running and WPX had to kick in money for almost every one – nice overlay. More to come on this later…

Don’t forget about The Mookie tourney tomorrow night on Pokerstars. Last week there were 39 players and I know someday we will break the 46 player mark. Surflexus is still running hot, he just may be the first to 3-peat…we’ll see.

Also, I’m thinking about posting about a bet I have with Mrs. Mookie, maybe later tonight or tomorrow.
