And The Winner Is…Zzzzz

I’ve had so many things to write about but haven’t made the time to get them posted.  As I’ve mentioned before, the company I work for was purchased and the deal closed last week.  I’ve heard I have anywhere from 6-9 months before I’ll be out of a job.  My original plan was to wait until early next year before I would start looking for a new job.  The plan has changed a little since a friend of mine hooked me up with a job interview where he works.

Yesterday I went to my first interview in 7+ years.  As I sat down in the lobby I looked up and saw my coworker walking with some people to an interview room.  Yes, he was there interviewing for the same exact job!  He’s a good guy (and reads this blog sometimes) so I didn’t try to throw him under the bus or anything.  My interview went well but the company still doesn’t know exactly what they want for this position.  It sounded like they want someone who can do a bunch of different things including a couple of areas that I don’t have the necessary experience.  Because of this, my coworker probably has the edge and may be the better choice.  We’re supposed to hear something tomorrow.

Last night I actually made it to The Mookie on time although a bit exhausted.  I wasn’t paying too much attention early due to the debate and baseball.  I won a big flip early on to double up but then bled off my stack and fizzled out in 21st place.

I signed up for The Dookie and managed to make the final table but that’s where things got a little fuzzy.  My eyelids wouldn’t stay open and the next thing I remember was waking up on the couch with the laptop still in front of me.  Somehow, someway I managed to finish in 2nd place!  I briefly looked over the hand history and it looks like I passed out with about 6 players left.  Crazy.  Easiest heads up match ever for Lightning36.

Because of my snooze, I missed out on The Mookie final table.  So I apologize for not having a proper recap with screenshots this week.  The top 6 spots made the money.  Here were the results:

  1. RaisingCayne – $205.20
  2. DonkeyPuncher74- $118.80
  3. UnTiltable15 – $81
  4. chitwood – $59.40
  5. TheSlinger – $43.20
  6. BuddyDank – $32.40
  7. Blyght
  8. Columbo
  9. Zeem

Congrats to RaisingCayne on the big win and his first Mookie title.  DP has been on fire lately, a third last week and 2nd last night.  Thanks to everyone who made it out last night, see you next week.
