All Hail Iak
I’m a tad sleepy today after the marathon Mookie last night. Sadly I was bounced way early but stayed up and watched the fireworks. I think fireworks is an understatement, I don’t think I’ve ever seen KK run into AA that many times, brutal suckouts and the always entertaining chatter. The chat during the tourney was well worth the $11 as I would alternate between laughing and cringing at some of the comments. If you made a donk move last night you could rest assured someone was willing to let you know about it. Sure things were a little tense at times, but being the “family” that we are, things aren’t always happy go lucky. Plus whats said on the felt stays on the felt…oh and of course the blog right ?
We had a good turnout last night, 43 players suited up for their shot at glory. Four-time champ surflexus wasn’t able to get it going and make it five…this week. It’s just a matter of time before he claims another title I’m sure. The Mookie 2nd Chance seemed to work out, 15 players joined and in the end MsJoanne and jeciimd. Congrats to both along with surflexus who finished in 3rd. Let me know what you think about the 2nd Chance tourney. Should we make it an $11 tourney too ? Switch it to a Turbo ? Another game besides NLHE ?
Congrats to all those who made the money in the main tourney…Patchmaster, iam23skidoo, MiamiDon, Iakaris and Fuel55. These guys played for what seemed like forever and the lead changed multiple times. Patch was the first go in 5th followed by cash game guru Fuel in 4th. Iak flopped quads against Don and he wents heads up with skidoo with the chiplead. Heads up play only lasted a few minutes and Iak was able to win his first Mookie title. Congrats to Iak ! I’m really looking forward to reading his Champion Profile. I’ll try to have it up here by the weekend.

Don’t forget tonight there are two tourneys on tap. First is the DADI..HORSE style followed the by the WWdN Knot The. If I’m able to play in the DADI, let me apologize now for any suckouts, bad calls/plays, etc. as I stink at HORSE. I really enjoy all the games that comprise HORSE (even Razz), but haven’t spent the time on actually learning how to play each game.

Mook, great tourney, put it in todays post, maybe some more CWHG (thats continental wide home game) players will join in next week, vgas and melale and I are part of that league.
LOVED the 2nd chance mookie… love it more at 5 dollars… Really as long as the 2nd chance mookie stays at around half the original mookie players I think the 1/2 buy in should stay. Now if we start having the same number of players in both then you might consider upping the buy-in.

I don’t Golf yet Mookie, but its on the agenda – I will take basic instruction over the winter in one of the indoor bubbles in Buffalo, then look to develop the game next summer. The wife and I were actually thinking of a little vacation before the job starts, is Austin a tourist destination (ie. enough to do to keep her interested)?
