My belly is fatter as is my wallet after this long weekend. It all started on Friday night with us hosting a tournament at the Big O. We had a decent turnout with 15 players and since it was the first home tourney since the Big O Vegas trip, the usual $10 rebuy seemed tiny.  The action was crazy and there was a total of 25 rebuys.

I put up a full tournament report up at the Big O website which includes pictures, Photoshop work of art and some video. Long story short, I went heads up facing a 500,000+ vs. 60,000 chip deficit and couldn’t pull off the miracle. 2nd place.

Saturday and Sunday I hung out with the family relaxing, eating, and celebrating LL’s birthday…my 8 year old daughter. My kiddos are growing like weeds and it seems every time I turn around it’s time to celebrate another birthday. I guess that happens when you have five rugrats.

This blog received a face lift over the weekend. So for you peeps who read this rag through Google Reader or Bloglines, please take a few minutes, click through and take a look and tell me what you think.

Yesterday we loaded up the band of merry Mooks and went to my parents house for a Labor Day BBQ. Two plates later I was ready to enter a food coma when I ended up joining Mrs. Mookie on a tag-a-long house hunters trip for my sister and her boyfriend. We spent the next few hours walking through a number of model homes which made it that much easier to justify another plate full of BBQ when we got back to my folks house. I’m getting kinda chubby for a scrawny guy.

Last night I was a last minute entry into Hoy’s MATH tournament. Yea I was the guy that made us start 6 and 7 handed instead of two tables of 9. I managed to stay alive for the first couple of hours and even made the final table.

After some bobbing and weaving I looked around and saw that we were down to 4 players and on the big, bad, ol’ bubble. This is exactly where I finished the last time I played the MATH. I’m not able to play this tourney as much as I’d like so I wanted to make it through to the money just one time.

I won a big pot with TT vs. 22 to double up which gave me some breathing room. The bubble popped and then a few hands later surflexus knocked out wormmsu to leave us heads up. Once again I was looking for a miracle facing a big chip disadvantage.  But I kept with the theme of the weekend…2nd.  Congrats to surf on the win.

Tonight another blogger tourney is on tap…smokkee is hosting the new Tuesday tourney on Bodog. The buy-in is $11 with Bodog adding $125 to the prize pool. Things kick off at 7:35pm CT and the password is bodogblogger.

The Mookie is posted on Full Tilt for tomorrow night as is Al’s Riverchasers event on Thursday.  I’ll see everyone in at least one of these events.  Good luck!
